DetailsBeginning with a review of the philosophical, legal, Constitutional, and social bases for the free speech tradition in the United States, students will focus upon the development and evolution of this tradition to the present day. Landmark Supreme Court decisions and their varied interpretations, as well as changing societal attitudes and technological developments, will be included.(Sp, alternate years)
