Policy on Evaluation of Administrators/Supervisors on Good Faith Affirmative Action Efforts and Results

At the University of Wisconsin-River Falls responsibility for recruitment and selection is delegated to the Provost/Vice Chancellor, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, academic deans, department chairs, and faculty. The Equity, Affirmative Action and Compliance Officer assists departments in the search and screen process and monitors the overall achievement of the University in meeting its goals and reports progress to the Chancellor.

Institutional administrators are to be evaluated on their attention to and support of equal opportunity and affirmative action as required in the University of Wisconsin System Equal Opportunities in Employment and Education Policies. Evaluations generally include:

  • Review of success in hiring women and persons of color
  • Review of promotion and retention of women and persons of color in departments or areas under their administration
  • Review of support for educational programs and training, which will assist women, and persons of color to enhance and upgrade their skills at all levels
  • Review of leadership and training in equal employment and affirmative action issues provided to those under their administration
  • Review of leadership and support of faculty in developing curricular materials, which include contributions of women and persons of color
  • Review of leadership and support of faculty in creating classroom climates that enhance the learning opportunities for women and persons of color.
