UW-RF Sets Enrollment Record for Fall
Fall semester is well under way, and UW-River Falls has set another record-breaking
year for fall enrollment.
The student headcount reached a total of 5,996 undergraduate and graduate students—an
increase of 130 students—making fall semester the largest enrollment in
University history.
This year, nearly 1,200 new freshmen and 450 transfer students are enrolled
on campus.
According to Admissions Director Alan Tuchenhagen, new freshmen hail from more
than 400 high schools. Although this is a large number, the age statistics of
freshmen shows 44 percent of new students are older than age 18.
Tuchenhagen said, "I am very pleased with the quality and diversity of
our new students this year. UW-River Falls remains a very popular choice for
students from across this region."
Here are the enrollment statistics for UW-RF by gender and ethnicity:
• Male: 2,301 (38.4 percent)
• Female: 3,695 (61.6 percent)
• Asian: 173
• Hispanic: 78
• African-American: 69
• Native-American: 33
• White: 5,531
