Business Bulk E-mail Class Set for UW-RF
The best practices in using bulk e-mail to effectively and ethically reach prospective hospitality and tourism industry business customers will the topic of a workshop on Aug. 18.
"To Bulk or Not to Bulk?" is set for 8 a.m. until noon in the Blue Lab of the Davee Library at UW-River Falls. The class will be led by staff from Pressenter!, the Internet service provider for western Wisconsin. It will explore the basics of sending bulk e-mails to customers.
Among the topics to be covered are:
When to bulk e-mail.
How to purchase customer lists of those who have indicated they want
to receive hospitality and tourism information.
How to build an electronic customer list through the business's Web site.
Avoiding the pitfalls of being labeled a "spammer" by Internet Service
Providers for sending out bulk mail.
How to select a reputable bulk mailer to distribute messages.
The workshop is a collaboration between the St. Croix Valley Regional Tourism Alliance, the NorthernEDGE economic development project of UW-Extension, Pressenter! and UW-River Falls. The workshop costs $20. To register contact the New Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce at 715/246-2900.
