Israeli Musician Ya'ir Dalal To Perform At UW-RF
Israeli musician Ya'ir Dalal will perform at UW-River Falls on April 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the William Abbott Concert Hall of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building.
Dalal's style is a unique synthesis of classical music with the sounds of his native Middle East Arab, Iraqi Jewish and Israeli blends Ñ a peaceful resonance that celebrates the common threads of the human experience. Some critics say the music of world-renowned Dalal is considered to be a catalyst to begin a process of world healing.
Dalal's talent was first recognized when he was asked to create the signature piece for the 1994 Oslo Peace Awards. He then performed "Zeman e-Salaam" (A Time for Peace) with the whole world watching. Working with both Israeli and Palestinian musicians, Dalal was nominated in October 2002 by the BBC for the prestigious honor of "Middle East Musician of the Year."
