Horn instructor Andrew Parks has been teaching at UW-River Falls since 1999. He also maintains a private studio of six to twelve middle school and high school horn students, many of whom play in the Wisconsin Honors Bands and Orchestras and Minnesota All-State groups. During the summers, Andrew teaches at the Shell Lake Arts Center Band Camp and closer to home, at the River Falls Brass Chamber Music camp. He was also the horn instructor at UW-Eau Claire from 1999-2004.

Mr. Parks is an active performer and can regularly be heard playing with the River Falls Brass, and as principal horn in the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra. A frequent recitalist and soloist, Andrew has been a featured soloist with several area groups including the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra (ECCO), Phipps Festival Orchestra, St. Croix Valley Community Band, and the St. Croix Valley Orchestra, in which he led the solo horn quartet in performances of Schumann's "Konzertstueck". He also performs with other area high school bands.

In the past, Parks has performed with groups such as the Rockford Symphony, Madison Brass and American Player's Theatre. Mr. Parks received his Bachelors Degree from St. Olaf College and his MM in horn performance from UW-Madison. Principal teachers include Douglas Hill, Kendall Betts, Miles Johnson, Boris Rybka and Bruce Rardin. He lives in River Falls with his wife Sarah, who is also on the music faculty at UWRF, and his two children Anna and Eric.
