Dr. JW Park is an assistant professor of music and the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where he directs the UWRF Concert Choir, the Chamber Singers, teaches private voice lessons and choral conducting. Prior to UW-River Falls, he held a similar position at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne in Indiana; Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, and Auburn University in Alabama. Dr. Park earned his Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Cleveland State University, and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University. Dr. Park, a baritone, has appeared as a recitalist and soloist including performances with the Robert Shaw Festival Singers. Park has guest conducted several professional choirs in Korea as well as in United States. A choral and vocal clinician, Dr. Park is an active member of The American Choral Directors Association and the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Park is an active clinician, presenting over 50 lectures at workshops with topics including Group Vocal Techniques and Choral Rehearsal Techniques. He is an active member of The American Choral Directors Association and the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Dr. Park earned his Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Cleveland State University, and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University.
