Zebulon M. Highben is the new director of the Men's Chorus at UW - River Falls. Mr. Highben serves as Choirmaster and Associate Musician at Westwood Lutheran Church in suburban Minneapolis, where he directs four of the church's six choirs, including the 70-voice A Cappella Choir. Under his direction, the A Cappella Choir performed at the 2006 fall convention of the American Choral Directors Assocation of Minnesota, and recently released a CD of favorite hymns, entitled The Faith We Sing. Mr. Highben is The Paul Bouman Chapel Choir Director at the annual Lutheran Summer Music Academy, and recently co-edited a book of essays on church choral music, to be released by Kirk House Publishers in June 2007. Mr. Highben holds the B.M.E. from Ohio State University (magna cum laude and with distinction) and the M.S.M. in choral conducting from Luther Seminary and St. Olaf College. He studied conducting privately with Hilary Apfelstadt, Anton Armstrong, and James S. Gallagher.
Mr. Highben directs the Men's Chorus at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls.
