Mike's Narrative Page
Undergraduates, future teachers, enrolled in CS 360: Logo Programming at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls completed this project during the fall semester of the 1996-1997 academic year. For this project, students investigated Native American art using the world wide web, as well as library and school resources. Each student selected art pieces to inspire a logo programming graphic design project. Logo procedures were developed using top down design to create a design inspired by Native American art. A home page was then created by each student after studying html coding and home page construction.
What Was Learned from Doing This Project
Besides learning Logo needed for my project, I learned how to link pages and add graphics in www pages.
How the WWW Was Used to Research This Project
I found different "hot spot" graphics, background colors, and also the organization of a webpage.
How the WWW Project Focused on Coursework
It took the work in class on the Logo project and made it a useful project because other people would be viewing the projects on the web.
What Mathematics Was Utilized in Your Project
I used geometry to determine angle measures for the isosceles triangles in my design. Algebra was used to figure the distances needed to outline and fill objects.
