Survey Information
The UWRF Chalmer Davee Library is conducting a LibQUAL+ online survey to measure perceptions and expectations of users' overall library experience. UWRF students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in this survey which is available April 1-30, 2008. Campus-wide feedback is very important and will be used to improve the quality of services and resources offered by the Chalmer Davee Library. Our goal is to assess the level of user satisfaction in three areas: services, material, and library as place.
[Please Note: LibQUAL+ does not assess the services provided by the Information Technology Services Department (ITS).]
The library first participated in the LibQUAL+ survey in the spring of (See 2004 overview; View 2004 full report.) The current survey will monitor the progress of strategic initiatives developed in 2004, some of which include:
- increased efforts to collaborate with other Wisconsin libraries to maximize book and journal resources despite budget restraints
- the introduction of new software including Find It, which simplifies the process of locating full-text articles and SuperSearch, which allows the user to search multiple databases and library catalogs in a single search
- preserving quiet study space for individuals while allowing for public group study
The library has set a goal of obtaining at least 1,000 surveys. If this goal is reached the library will provide treats and beverages for students using the library all throughout finals week! Additionally, student participants will be prompted to enter an email address after completing the survey if they wish to be entered into the drawings. All student participants are eligible to win prizes including:

The LibQUAL+ survey is anonymous. Even if you enter your email address for prizes, any information you have entered on the survey remains anonymous. Simply follow the survey link or click on the LibQUAL+ Survey link on the library's homepage. The survey is available from April 1-30, 2008. Drawings will be held after the survey concludes.
A LibQUAL+ booth will be in the University Center on April 2nd and April 8th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Laptops will be available for taking the survey. Students can enter their names into the drawing for the aforementioned prizes and be eligible for insti-prizes and other treats at the booth.
About LibQUAL+
LibQUAL+(TM) is a suite of services that libraries use to solicit, track, understand, and act upon users’ opinions of service quality. These services are offered to the library community by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). The program’s centerpiece is a rigorously tested Web-based survey bundled with training that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library. The goals of LibQUAL+(TM) are to:
- Foster a culture of excellence in providing library service
- Help libraries better understand user perceptions of library service quality
- Collect and interpret library user feedback systematically over time
- Provide libraries with comparable assessment information from peer institutions
- Identify best practices in library service
- Enhance library staff members' analytical skills for interpreting and acting on data
