Thanks to the more than 750 faculty, staff and students who completed the 2004
LibQUAL+™ survey, the Library has made significant changes over the past four years to better meet your information needs.
Extended library hours
Students wanted better hours and were willing to help pay for them with differential tuition funds.
The Library is now open until 1 A.M. (Sunday -Thursday) and weekend hours have been extended.
THANK YOU UWRF STUDENTS!
Written comments told us that students wanted a quieter environment and more group study spaces.
- Began enforcing the no cell phone rule.
- The upper floor is now designated as a quiet space.
- Library staff are conscience that they make noise too! We are trying hard to be quieter.
- Space is limited, but we repurposed three listening rooms for group study spaces.
- The main floor has been reconfigured to encourage group study.
Improve access to online journals
- Upgraded to the Ebsco Academic Search Premier database (2006), which added a great deal of full text.
- Pursued student differential tuition monies; the library purchased and/or leased several journal packages that include over 2000 online journals. Take a look at the list of resources added in January 2008!
- Added the FindIt! service (2005) which aids in locating both print and online journals.
More library orientation
Began walk-in library orientations and scheduled library tours.
More places of comfort
The furniture has been rearranged.
Improved CD/DVD collections
