Reference books are shelved on the main level of the library, next to the Reference Desk. Just as with the circulating collection, reference books on diversity will be found at many different call number locations. If you see a book that looks particularly helpful on this list, be sure to browse the same call number in the circulation collection (main stacks)—there will more than likely be more titles of interest there as well.

Indexes and abstracts over 400 journals, with some full-text, starting in 1996. Also indexes books relating to education published from 1995 to the present.
GenderWatch
A full text database of unique and diverse publications that focus on how gender impacts a broad spectrum of subject areas. With its archival material, dating back to 1970 in some cases, GenderWatch is a repository of an important historical perspective on the evolution of the women's movement and the changes in gender roles. Publications include scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, regional publications, books, and NGO, government and special reports.
PsychInfo
Provides abstracts and indexing (no full text) for 1300 journals, from 1887 to the present. Also includes abstracts for dissertations, books and book chapters.
Social Sciences Full Text
A bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles of at least one column in length from English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere, plus the full text of selected periodicals. Indexing coverage begins in 1983; abstracting coverage begins with periodicals published in January 1994; full text coverage begins in January 1995.

Contains “Ethnic News” section. Below is a screen capture that shows the proper way to enter a search in this section. Step One: from the “select a news category” menu, choose “general news.” Step two: from the “select a news source” menu choose “Ethnic News.” Step three: enter one or more search terms in the available boxes. Multicultural Pavilion
An excellent site that received the 2001 Multicultural Media Award. Maintained by the University of Virginia this site has a section for teachers with facts sheets and historic collections on native American history, the Holocaust, Japanese Internment, and Womens history.
