The Lion's Paw Book Club is an open discussion group named for Wisconsin author Hamlin Garland's short story, Under the Lion's Paw. The club began in January 1998 as a collaborative effort serving UW-River Falls faculty, staff, students, and community members who enjoy reflective reading and discussing contemporary issues.

Monthly meetings are held from 3 - 4 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month in the library's second floor breezeway. [View library floor map] Session leaders serve as conversation guides for books that have inspired them. Anyone is welcome to attend and need not have read the books to sit in. Featured books are always on sale in the Falcon Shop in the University Center. Several copies of each book are made available in the library’s collection as well.
