How do I find course reserve materials?

These materials are books, videos or other items that a professor has requested be reserved for use by students in a particular class. To ensure that the items are available for the entire class, the items circulate for shorter periods of time (usually 2 hours or overnight) and are subject to fines.

To locate material your professor has placed in the course reserves collection:

  1. Go to the Library’s webpage
  2. Click on Materials on reserve and e-reserve for specific courses
  3. Select instructor, department or course from drop down menus and make your selection.
  4. Click on Search.
  5. Find the title you need.
  6. Retrieve the item electronically when available, or write down the call number and take it to the Circulation Desk were a staff member will get the item for you.

Here is a screen shot of a reserve item in the library catalog. Note that it is listed both as an "E-Item", i.e. electronic and farther down is the "Call Number" for the paper copy.
