| Step 1 |
Search UW-RF’s library catalog to make sure the item is not available on our campus

| Step 2 |
Search the other UW libraries for the item using the Universal
Borrowing function of the library catalog. If available, “Place Request” for that item. The item will arrive in two to five days. Please check
your library account to see the status of the request.

| Step 3 |
If the item cannot be located or requested in steps one and two, then place an interlibrary loan request for the item. Library staff will locate
and request the item for you. You will be notified via email when items arrive.

Journal/Newspaper or other articles

Search Find IT to
make sure that we do not have access to the journal or newspaper, either in print or full-text online in a
database.

| Step 2 |
If the item cannot be located in Find It, then place an interlibrary loan request for the item. Library staff
will locate and request a copy of the article for you.

| Step 3 |
You can view the processing, shipment, and arrival of your Interlibrary Loan articles by selecting Track
your Interlibrary Loan requests.

| Step 4 |
You will receive an email to your UWRF email account to notify you of the location in which you can pick up your materials.

* Please note that the Interlibrary Loan department will strive to acquire your materials as quickly as possible, however
some items will come through the mail and will take longer. Please allow 4 to 8 days for these requests to arrive.
