![]() Joan Kratt displays some of the scholarly journals available in the Reading Room. Reading Room provides an optional source of researchReading rooms have been a traditional feature in journalism departments for years. The UW-RF Journalism Reading Room is no exception. According to the department program assistant, Joan Kratt, students can get material here for their research papers, keep up on current events in the region, study or just relax. Kratt, who keeps the collection up to date, says it is a very useful source of information that provides exclusive reading material. "For instance some of the books that we have here are not available at the campus library. At the end of the year we send some of the material to the library for binding. Space becomes available for the new issues." Materials that can be found in the reading room are advertising and public relations journals and text books, magazines, and local and national newspapers, such as the New York Times, Pioneer Press, The River Falls Journal, The Republican-Eagle, and many others. The Journalism Reading Room is located at 304 KFA. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
