Hanna Mhlongo is a visiting journalist from South Africa. She has worked as a journalist for eight years. She arrived at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in August 2000 to study journalism. Before she came to UW-RF she was working as a copyeditor for the Daily News in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. She has also worked as general reporter for a number of newspapers in KZN, covering stories on health, women's and children's rights issues, crime and education. About her experiences in UW-RF she says: "It's been an exciting opportunity to study journalism in this campus. "I also think that coming to the United States during the last historic elections was an added bonus because in my classes we discussed a lot about the elections. "I also feel that I learned a lot about American politics, national polls, media in my classes such as computer assisted journalism, journalism and public opinion and international mass media."
