APRIL 12, 2006 - Jens Gunelson (left) and Lorin Robinson judged the 2006 photography contest sponsored by the Journalism Department. Gunelson is the campus photographer and Robinson, a former department chair, started the contest more than 30 years ago. This was the largest competition, with 244 entries and 34 students participating from across campus. "I credit John Bothe, a marketing communications student, with the contest's success," said Colleen Callahan, contest coordinator. Student Voice earns 4 awards
Department welcomes new faculty memberAUGUST 2005 - Andris Straumanis, who brings a wealth of practical and academic experience to the classroom, will teach editing and advanced reporting courses and advise the Student Voice. WRFW receives grantAUGUST 2005 - The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation Board awarded WRFW-FM $6,135 to upgrade its remote-audio equipment. "The new equipment weighs less, produces better sound, and can easily be upgraded," said Rick Burgsteiner, WRFW general manager. "We're very fortunate that WBA offers these educational support grants to help student broadcasters."
