APRIL 2008 - Sandra Ellis is among the recipients of the first Compass Award, given to faculty or staff members who have played a positive role in the transition to college for first-year students.
Compasses provide guidance and direction – a point of reference in a time of need, a sense of purpose and destination. The Compass Award is given to individuals who motivate others to perform at their best and guide new students through their first year with genuine commitment and endless support.
“It's no surprise that Sandy is receiving this award,” said Colleen Callahan, Journalism Department chair. “Her dedication to students is exemplary. We're very pleased she's receiving recognition. It's well deserved.”
A reception for Compass Award recipients and their nominators will take place on Wednesday, April 30 at 4 p.m. in the South Fork Suites Conference Room.
Please RSVP to fye@uwrf.edu by Monday, April 21.
