The University of Wisconsin – River Falls , a member of the University of Wisconsin System , is located 30 miles from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul in scenic west central Wisconsin . Year around arts, cultural and recreational events are easily accessible. UWRF's 6,400 undergraduate and graduate students pursue degrees in four colleges: Arts and Sciences; Education and Professional Studies; Agriculture, Food and Environmental Science; and Business and Economics. The Position:
Assistant/Associate Professor – Pedagogy & Curriculum. Teach in areas of physical education curriculum and methods of instruction. Ability to teach classes across the Health & Human Performance curriculum and provide departmental leadership in the area of K-12 physical education pedagogy. This position also provides critical leadership in placement and supervision of student teachers, fostering collaborative partnerships with K-12 schools and teachers, assessing program and curricular needs, and coordinating DPI, NASPE, and NCATE accreditation. Additional responsibilities: Academic advising; coordinate and supervise student teachers; involvement in outreach programs with K-12 schools; serve on university committees; conduct scholarly activity.

Qualifications (Required):

  • Doctorate or Masters in Physical Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Pedagogy or related area. Masters degree accepted with the expectation that the successful candidate will be enrolled in a doctoral program by time of hire and complete the doctorate by the time of tenure.
  • K-12 and/or University level teaching experience.
  • Provide departmental leadership in the areas of K-12 physical education pedagogy.
  • Ability to teach across the Health & Human Performance curriculum.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations and ability to contribute to the University ' s commitment to enhancing student awareness and appreciation of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages.
