Classified Position Recruitment

Starting a Classified Recruitment

1. Submit the following to the Office of Human Resources, 216 North Hall:

The Human Resources Office will review and classify the position and obtain the appropriate signatures.

2. Once approvals have occurred, the position will be posted for transfers via faculty/staff email and the union bulletin boards (if a represented position) for 5 working days. The position will also be concurrently posted with the State of Wisconsin Layoff Referral System for 8 working days.

3. If no contractual transfers indicate interest, the recruitment will then proceed.

Recruitment processes can vary depending on the type of vacancy. An established list of applicants may already be established because of a pre-existing examination, or an exam may need to be created by the supervisor and the Human Resources Office.
