The University of Wisconsin-River Falls, a member of the University of Wisconsin System, is located 30 miles from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul in scenic west central Wisconsin. Year around arts, cultural and recreational events are easily accessible. UWRF's 6,400 undergraduate and graduate students pursue degrees in four colleges: Arts and Sciences; Education and Professional Studies; Agriculture, Food, and Environmental Science; and Business and Economics. The Position:

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Athletic Department is seeking a certified athletic trainer to assist the athletic training staff in providing daily care to student-athletes. Responsibilities include: serving as the primary athletic trainer for assigned sports, practice and home event coverage, and communication with the Head Athletic Trainer. This is a 6-month position beginning August 1, 2008 and concluding at the end of the winter sports season (approximately March 1, 2009), with the possibility for renewal. Additional opportunities are available with the strength and conditioning and summer camp programs to supplement salary.

Qualifications:

  • BOC Certified (or eligible)
  • Wisconsin Licensure (or eligible)
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations and ability to contribute to the University ' s commitment to enhancing student awareness and appreciation of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages.
