This is your annual opportunity to change health plans if that is the appropriate decision for you and your family. Our campus health fair is scheduled for Monday, October 13 from 10:00 until 2:00 in the University Center. Watch Falcon Daily for more information as that date draws closer. The “It’s Your Choice” book has been printed and should arrive on campus soon. As soon as it arrives, it will be sent to employees via inter campus mail. Please review this information carefully, look at the offerings of each of the plans, and determine which is best for you and your family. This information can answer many of the questions you have. The booklet is your key reference tool and is available as a PDF file on the ETF site. It may take a long time to download. A letter from ETF has been sent to all employees that explains the various health insurance options, as well as the Tier rate information.
During the 2008 year Humana Western added Health Partner specialists to their network, thereby increasing our options to see a wide variety of specialists in the Twin Cities area. It is necessary to have your primary care physician come from one of the in-network Wisconsin clinics. Other than that, there are very few changes for ‘09 with Humana Western. The State Maintenance Plan (SMP) is a new plan that has become available to us. This plan does include providers in the Minnesota counties of Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey and Washington County. The Hudson Clinic is not included in the SMP network and there are no dental benefits with this plan. You may access the health care providers for SMP (State Maintenance Plan) via this address: http://www.wpsic.com/state/fad2009_smp.shtml. There are 3 options on this page. Select the third one, on the right hand side: Directory WPS (SMP) Minnesota, Featuring Select Care Providers. I would encourage you to review this information and call the 800 numbers if you have specific questions, or bring them to the health fair on October 13.
