The History and Philosophy Department at University of Wisconsin-River Falls offers three majors in History and a major in Broad Field Social Studies (for teaching) as well as minors in History, Philosophy and Broad Field Social Studies.

 

The mission of the History and Philosophy Department is to generate, cultivate and transmit knowledge and understanding of history and philosophy.

Student Work Study positions in History and Philosophy Department--starting Fall Semester 2008. If you have been awarded Work Study as part of your financial assistance package please email Office Manager, Sue Voelker or call 715-425-3164 to request an application.

 

McNair Scholar and History Major, Paul Borofka-Webb graduated in May 2008. Paul's research topic was "Populism and the Grange Movement" mentored by Dr. Kurt Leichtle. Details on McNair Scholars program

 

The History Club and Phi Alpha Theta web site has been redesigned and includes a photo gallery of the 2008 initiation ceremony and 2007 annual History-Geography-Political Science-Sociology picnic and volleyball challenge.

 

Our 2008 Newsletter--30th annual--is available online.

 

Advisor of the Year (Nov. 2007), was awarded to Emeritus Professor of History, Herb Cederberg. Congratulatulations to Herb on remaining a stand-out-favorite eight years after retirement!

 

A photo archive of The Edward N. Peterson Lecture Series Inaugural Event, Oct. 2, 2007 has been updated with candid photos of the reception.
