The 21-day study tour in Mexico will provide many examples of pre-columbian, colonial, and modern architecture and art; Mexican business and commerce, the educational system and agrarian practices; as well as religious and cultural centers in the cities of Mexico City, Taxco, Queretaro, Guanajuato, and Guadalajara. The trip concludes with several days on the sunny western coast of Mexico in Puerto Vallarta, where students can take advantage of a variety of optional seaside activities and excursions before returning home during the third week of January. The course concludes with a term paper based on experiences in Mexico and a wrap-up meeting in early February. The Winter Interim in Mexico course and J-Term trip includes a three week travel experience to Mexico City, Central Mexico, Guadalajara, and Puerto Vallarta. Participants will be required to attend six orientation meetings during the fall semester, a follow-up meeting and a written term paper. Ability to speak Spanish is not required. This three credit course fulfills the Global Perspectives (G) university requirement. . |
