First-Year Students (click
here).
This will be your first visit to campus as an "official"
UW-River Falls student. During the transfer
student registration program, you'll meet with academic advisors,
select courses, register for classes, meet other transfer students,
and learn about University services. You'll have questions; we'll
have the answers. We can't wait to meet you and introduce you
to our campus!
Here are a few important reminders as you prepare for your registration
date:
Parking
When you arrive on campus, parking will be available
in N-Lot. You do not need to display a permit if you park in this
lot. Plus, we'll have directional signs along the sidewalk to
guide you to the program in the new University Center (#20 on
the campus map)!
Check-In
The transfer student
registration program is held in the new University Center
(#20 on the campus map), with check-in beginning
at 10:45 a.m. The main program begins promptly at 11:30 a.m. Please
plan to be on campus until 4:00 p.m.
Items to Bring with You:
Photo ID
Falcon Account Password
Student ID Number
Social Security Number
Activate Your Falcon Account
If you haven't already done so, please be sure to activate
your Falcon Account before arriving on campus. You will need
your Falcon Account to access class registration, financial aid
information, housing information, university email, and your student
record. You need to activate your account before you can register
for classes.
Placement Testing
If you have not already taken college level English composition
and/or math courses, you will need to arrive early to take the
Wisconsin Regional Placement Test(s). Your advisor will use your
score(s) to place you in the appropriate English and/or mathematics
classes. If you have previous experience in a foreighn language
(French, German, or spanish) and would like to continue studying
that language at UWRF, you will need to take a modern language
placement test.
Testing will take place in the University Center
the morning of your registration date at the following times.
Modern Language testing begins at 7:00 a.m.
Math placement testing begins at 8:05 a.m.
English placement test begins at 9:40 a.m.
Families:
You're so important in this process that we have a family
program designed just for you! Our staff will help you understand
University policies and transition issues that your student may
experience. We'll offer suggestions about how to be a partner
in their college experience and provide answers to all your questions.
