The University of Wisconsin-River Falls is proud of its scholarship program, which has grown considerably in recent years. In the 2008-09 school year, more than 530 scholarships were awarded to freshmen and continuing students. To qualify for scholarships, students must be admitted to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Factors that may be considered when determining recipients include class ranking, ACT scores, high school and community activities, and financial need. On the left side of this page, you will find scholarship descriptions under both the UWRF Foundation Scholarships and Other Freshman Scholarships links. In addition, please check the college of your major for sholarships you may be eligible for. Use the link below the scholarship details to apply on-line. In some cases, you may need to contact an individual for the application. Students are encouraged to consult with their high school guidance counselor for information on other local and national scholarships. Please Note: Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. Frequently asked questions:This information is for all UWRF incoming freshmen scholarships EXCEPT those specifically named and awarded by CAFES. Please see their website for their unique application, deadline, and requirements. When do you apply? You can start any time, but the deadline to apply for 2009-10 is February 2, 2009. The deadline includes the submission of any requested supporting letters of recommendation as well as the on-line application.

What else should you know before you apply? Be sure you meet the minimum requirements before applying. If the scholarship application has an essay field, you must complete it. Review the scholarship description to see if you need to answer a specific question. If not, then answer the essay by explaining how you qualify for the scholarship and why you deserve it. The University reserves the right to cancel the scholarship if the recipient no longer meets the published criteria for selection. Scholarships are managed through the UW-River Falls Foundation. Some scholarships listed may not be awarded, for a variety of reasons.
