Incoming Freshmen Scholarships
Hedahl Scholarship:
- Must have a declared major in the College of Arts and Sciences
- Preference for a minority student or first generation college student
- Preference for an incoming freshman
- Student is required to complete an essay explaining his/her qualifications. This scholarship will not award for 2010-11.
Music Department Incoming Freshmen Scholarship:
These scholarships are awarded to outstanding performers and composers. The recipients are chosen through audition by the music faculty. An application is not required for this scholarship. Donald A. Nitz Memorial Music Scholarship:
This scholarship is awarded to a music major and is based on musicianship, good performing skills, and academic achievements. Preference will be given to a double- reed student.
Tadeusz Pala Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to an incoming freshman planning to major in chemistry with a composite ACT of 27 or higher.
Bob Samarotto Music Scholarship:
Awarded to a woodwind player who displays potential and commitment to perform with the New Music Ensemble for a year. Financial need is to be taken into consideration only as a determinant between two equal candidates. Theatre Arts Scholarship:
The Theatre Arts Scholarship is awarded to a talented student who has been admitted to UW-River Falls as an incoming freshman or transferring Theatre Arts major. The recipient must have demonstrated exceptional ability in one or more areas of theatre and a minimum high school GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
