Financial Aid Deadlines
January 1
New FAFSA for the next year is available. Complete your FAFSA as early as possible so that your aid is packaged in time for the start of fall semester and so that all aid types you may be eligible for are still available. A PIN is required to electronically “sign” your FAFSA online.
January
Bill statements for spring semester are mailed to students from the UW-River Falls Accounts Receivable Office. Payment plan options are included.
Early February
Spring financial aid is credited to your account. If you have excess financial aid after your charges are paid, a refund is processed shortly after. To receive your refund, you must set up direct deposit.
Early February
UW-River Falls Foundation Scholarship applications are due.
March - May
If you are planning on taking summer classes, fill out a summer financial aid application.
April 15
Tax deadline with the IRS. Keep copies of your completed tax documents because the Financial Aid Office may need copies.
Late May
Satisfactory Academic Progress is evaluated for financial aid recipients. By federal regualtions, you must be making progress to continue to receive federal and state financial aid.
Summer
If you are borrowing a Federal Perkins Loan and/or Federal Stafford Loan for the first time next fall, you must complete the online Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN): Processing Your Loans
August
