Dennis is an Extension Dairy Specialist working primarily in the area of human resource management on dairy farms. He has made many presentations and written several articles on recruitment, selection, performance evaluation, job quality, and other areas of HRM. He has been a national leader in recognizing and communicating the importance of farm image as a factor in recruitment. As a ruminant nutritionist, he has developed a strong interest in management intensive rotational grazing for dairy cattle.

Recent Highlights

Gave two presentations to the Hispanic Labor Conference in the Northeast District
Planned and conducted a dairy forage and feeding workshop project in Romania, traveling there twice
Served as co-leader of the HRM subgroup of the Management Education Development and Delivery workgroup of the Extension Farm Management and Education Team (FMET)
Coordinated a Cochran Fellowship program in dairy production for agriculturalists from Estonia and Lithuania
Participated in a Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative (GLCI) grazing school
Participated in a multi-state Extension HRM meeting in Buffalo, NY
Had a short essay on the importance of farm image and job quality in recruiting included in the new book, Ag Help Wanted - Guidelines for Managing Agricultural Labor. The essay was originally written by Dennis for a list-serve.

All degrees are in Animal Science with emphasis in ruminant nutrition, physiology and agricultural economics.
