Kathleen teaches Freshman Persuasive Reading and Writing, Sophomore
Literature, Advanced Composition, Women and Film and an honors seminar.
Kathleen's field of emphasis is Composition and Rhetoric, with secondary
emphases in Film Studies and Modern American Literature. She chose
composition/rhetoric because “I had a horrid writing experience
as an undergraduate. I wanted to focus on teaching writing in a way
that would be a positive experience for the students, not a replication
of my experience.” She is the Film Studies Coordinator, and
has also taught The Films of Alfred Hitchcock, Literature for Adolescents,
and Introduction to Women's Studies, and two honors courses: "Interrogating
the Literary Utopia" and "Freedom of Expression in America
Today."
