Computer lab/TEC trouble reportUse this form to report a problem in an DoTS-supported computer lab, a Technology-Enhanced Classroom or a mobile TEC cart. If the problem is critical and must be repaired as soon as possible, please also call DoTS at (715) 425-3687. Ask to speak with a permanent staff member about the problem. Read more about problems in the Technology-Enhanced Classrooms.
Note: If you no longer need a service that you request, please notify DoTS as soon as possible. * indicates a mandatory field The Technology-Enhanced Classrooms (TECs) are a major step forward for the campus and represent a new challenge for DoTS. We want to keep them operable, so that they are always available when expected, but, without doubt, problems can occur. Instructors should have a backup plan in case equipment does not operate as expected. Please notify DoTS in the event of problems via the form above, or by calling us, if the problem is urgent, at 425-3687. Keep in mind, though, that DoTS does not have the staff available to respond to all problems immediately. Even if there is an immediate response, the problem might not be able to be resolved before the equipment is needed for class. Since classes are held all day in these rooms, a sustained effort to fix a major problem may not be possible until the room is vacant. Of course, even if you need to continue on without using the equipment, let us know right away so we can investigate the problems at our first opportunity. The best course of action for all of us is prevention. We are working on plans to make regular checks on the equipment. The more familiar you become with the equipment, the more you will be able to do to resolve many of your problems. Being prepared and checking the equipment, if possible, when you arrive is wise. Many of the problems thus far have not been major, but rather nuances in how the equipment works. In addition, it has taken some time to find all of the glitches and eliminate as many of them as possible. While there will be failures, the equipment is reliable and works properly most of the time if you know how to use it. If you don't know how it works, please request an orientation and training. We would be happy to arrange an orientation session an individual, department or group. Time spent this way will save your time and ours in the long run and help you avoid the frustrating problems when you are teaching |
