Corporate Sponsors Are Backbone of Training Camp

The Kansas City Chiefs Summer Training Camp in River Falls is an unforgettable experience for both the team and fans alike.

However, what many do not know is what it takes to make the eventful production possible.

For the past 17 years, several businesses and organizations have helped make the Chiefs training camp a reality. It is through these generous donations and financial backings that the UW-River Falls has been able to host camp since it began in the summer of 1991.

Many of the businesses offering goods and services during camp not only provide for the team, but also for many events catering to fans including Family Fun Night and Kids' Days. Sponsors such as Viking Coca Cola of River Falls, help make these fun-filled events possible to fans and provide each summer with a memorable experience for Chiefs followers.

Some of the goods and services provided by sponsors during camp include transportation and refreshments, as wells as laundry and phone services. Other important sponsors which are used during practice include Red Wing Ice. The company, which is in its 17th year of working with the Chiefs, donates ice for use in the training room.

Other sponsors that leave a memorable impact on Chiefs camp include the Indianhead Sport Parachute Club and Rolf Halverson Fireworks, both which appear during Family Fun Night on Aug. 8. Fans are able to enjoy the skydivers from Indianhead Sport Parachute Club descend onto Ramer Field to kick off practice, while the dazzling display of Rolf Halverson Fireworks light up the night sky to end the evening.

Regardless of the service provided, businesses sponsoring the Chiefs summer training camp all help to make camp a continuing success and allow the team to prepare for the upcoming 2007 NFL season.
