At the Kansas City Chiefs Summer Training Camp orientation at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Wednesday afternoon, Chiefs Equipment Assistant Kyle Crumbraugh gave an introductory speech to initiate the camp. Crumbraugh began by thanking all volunteers and staff for their hard work and dedication to the camp. During this speech, he described interesting facts about every day camp life. “I could fit into the laundry machine that we use,” he commented. In addition to the massive amount of clothing that has to be laundered, the Chiefs also go through 400 pairs of cleats and 600 pairs of gloves used by the 85 players. Aside from the 85 players, the team also consists of 20 coaches and 40 staff members “…all working together to make this another successful year,” Crumbraugh finished.
During the orientation several pieces of Chiefs merchandize were awarded to attendees through either a trivia contest or by the luck of the draw. UWRF Camp Coordinator Larry Testa closed the orientation with, “It’s because of what you do, what we all do, that make this all happen and keep the Chiefs coming back to River Falls.”
This is the 19th straight year the Chiefs have held their summer training camp at UWRF, which is located in west central Wisconsin. The team arrives on Thursday and the first practice is set for 9 a.m., on Saturday at the Ramer Field Sports Complex. All practices, except Family Fun Day, are free and open to the public.
