Awards

Alpha Tau Alpha
I was initiated into the Alpha Mu chapter of Alpha Tau Alpha in October of 2001. Alpha Tau Alpha is a National Professional Honorary Agricultural Education Organization.

I served as Secretary in 2002 for the Alpha Mu chapter of Alpha Tau Alpha at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls . As secretary I recorded the minutes of each meeting and then typed them and e-mailed them to each of the members. I also was responsible for creating the agenda for each meeting. I served as President of the organization in 2003. As President, I was responsible for running the bi-weekly meetings according to proper parliamentary procedure. I also arranged the officer meetings for the officer team of nine members.

FFA American Degree
I received my American FFA Degree in 2002. This is the highest Degree awarded by the National FFA Organization. I received this award because of my work in my Supervised Agricultural Experience and the activities that I participated in through FFA.

State FFA Degree
The State FFA Degree is the highest degree awarded to an FFA member by the Wisconsin Association of FFA. In order to earn this degree I had to document the hours I spent and the money I earned through my Supervised Agricultural Experience.

Dean's List
I was included on the Dean's List for Fall Semester of 2001 and Spring Semester of 2002 at UW - River Falls. To be included on the Dean's List you must receive a grade point average of 3.5 or better.
My biography was also accepted for publication in The National Dean's List for 2000-2001 and 2001-2002. Only 1/2 of 1% of college students receive this award.

4-H Key Award
I received the Wisconsin 4-H Key Award in 2000.  It is the highest award you can earn in 4-H.  Only 1% of 4-H members earn this award. It is awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to 4-H through the development of leadership, citizenship and community service.

Personal and Professional Development Center (PPDC) Employee of the Month
I was awarded the PPDC Employee of the Month in February of 2002 for my work ethic, efficiency, being a role model and my work on the bookmark project. I also received the award in December of 2002 for my work on the Resume Referral project and the bookmarks.

Scholarships
I have received numerous scholarships from the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, as well as from the University. In 2003 I received the Marvin & Phyllis Thompson Agricultural Education Scholarship. In 2002 I received the Marcel K. Lynum Scholarship and the James C. Dollahon Bequest Scholarship. In 2001 I received the Marcel K. Lynum Scholarship.
