Throughout my career, I have distinguished myself as a leader. The following examples are evidence of my committment to serving others through leadership and teamwork.

Leadership to the University Community

  • Awarded the Chancellor's Award, the highest non-academic award given to a student for service and leadership

Leadership in Organizations

-Student Senator

  • Instrumental in changing the Internatioal Studies minor into a major
  • One of three senators to initiate the annual Diversity Award Banquet

-African American Alliance

  • Initiated the first Soul Food Dinner on campus as chair
  • Worked with the Dean for Student Development and Campus Diversity to improve ethnic relations on campus

-Mentors n Mentees Program

  • Co-created the program to help incoming freshmen transition smoothly to college life

-Diversity Awareness Committee

- Campus Community Cleanup

  • Organized students to assist during the annual campus cleanup day
