- Instrumental in changing the Internatioal Studies minor into a major
- One of three senators to initiate the annual Diversity Award Banquet

- Initiated the first Soul Food Dinner on campus as chair
- Worked with the Dean for Student Development and Campus Diversity to improve ethnic relations on campus
