Annual All-Campus Career Fair (Fall Semester)
Each October, UW-River Falls hosts an all-campus Career Fair. Students of all majors and levels of study are encouraged to attend. Students can learn about possible career paths from the many organizations attending, and make valuable employer contacts for internships and full-time positions. Graduate schools also host tables at this event. Business professional attire is recommended, and students are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes.
Career Road Map (Fall and Spring Semesters)
Getting anxious about graduation? Offered Spring and Fall Semesters, this event is geared toward helping students make a successful transition from college life to the world of work. Some highlights include:
- Guest speakers and panels
- Mock interviews from employers
- Graduation materials and tables
- Alumni networking luncheon
Cruise Through Finals (Spring Semester)
Each May during finals week, Career, Counseling, and Student Health Services hosts an event is intended to give relief to students during finals week. This is a fun event that includes:
- Refreshments
- Games & Prizes
- Professional massages
- Health tests (blood pressure screening, etc...)
Etiquette Dinner (Fall & Spring Semester)
The Etiquette Dinner is a popular event hosted once each semester. In addition to enjoying a delicious five-course dinner, attendees receive hands-on training for appropriate dining and business etiquette. Advance reservations are required to attend. Business professional attire is encouraged.
Mardi Gras (Spring Semester)
Flash us your resume and we'll give you some beads! During Mardi Gras week, Career Services staff and student workers, dressed in Mardi Gras outfits, provide walk-in resume, cover letter, and portfolio assistance to students.
Student Teacher Professional Development Day (Fall & Spring Semesters)
The Student Teacher Professional Day, offered once each semester, is a required program for all student teachers. Some features of the event:
- Mock interviews with school district administrators
- Lab instruction for conducting online job searches
- Presentations and individual assistance with resumes, cover letters, and portfolios
- School district administrators serve as a "panel of experts" to offer tips on being a successful teacher and navigating the hiring process
Tip & Treat (Fall Semester)
During Halloween week, Career Services staff and student workers patrol campus to offer Halloween candy and career tips to students.
