The Professional Writing Minor Business-Government option provides study and
practice in the spectrum of communication from graphic design to computer literacy
and emphasizes training useful in business, industry, and government. The minor
is not recommended for English Education majors. Students selecting this minor
are advised to complete an English internship, ENGL 379.
The Professional Writing Minor Creative Writing option serves as a foundation
for general publication or in-house publication in large businesses and also
for "professional writing" in its traditional sense: "free-lance"
writing as a primary or supplemental source of income or as an avocation. The
minor is not recommended for English Education majors. Students selecting this
minor are advised to complete an English internship, ENGL 379.
