Subject: UWRF Annual Career Fair
On Wednesday, October 15, 2008, Career Services will sponsor the 17th Annual UWRF Career Fair in the Riverside Ballroom-UNIVERSITY CENTER.
This is the second year for the Career Fair at its University Center location which has attracted many employers who have never before attended the UWRF Career Fair. This year's theme is "Search. Discover. Succeed. ", something I hope all students who attend the Career Fair will achieve.
To date, there are 100 organizations registered to attend the UW-River Falls Career Fair. This is the maximum capacity that Riverside Ballroom and Falcon's nest can comfortably accommodate!
The Career Fair is designed to create opportunities for students so that they walk away from the Fair having gained more knowledge about their career path and the options that are available to them in their chosen career field(s). Students will be able to discover a world of opportunities at the Fair by networking with employers and learning about new and exciting internship and job opportunities.
We have worked extremely hard to create a marketing campaign that will be highly visible to students, faculty, and staff on campus. The Career Fair is known as an “all-campus” event which encourages first year students through seniors to attend. While lower level students may not be looking for jobs or internships, we encourage them to attend to network with organization representatives and possibly find a career direction to pursue. Juniors and seniors are encouraged to bring portfolios and resumes to “jump start” their careers and to apply for positions or internships available within the ranks of the participating organizations.
Please announce the Career Fair in your classes and encourage all students at any level of study to attend.
For an updated list of employers and graduate schools attending the Career Fair, please view Organizations Attending.
In appreciation for bringing your class, or classes, or giving an assignment that requires your students to attend the Career Fair, you are invited to be our guest for lunch on the day of the fair so you can network with organization representatives. This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet with recruiters, and possibly open doors for students majoring in your particular area of expertise.
To participate in the Career Fair lunch, please complete and return the guest lunch form (link below) no later than Monday, October 8. If you have any questions about the Career Fair or the lunch, please contact Caitlin Conley, Career Fair Coordinator at: cfcoordinator@uwrf.edu or call 715-425-3572. |
