UW System Climate Assessment Project Craig Morris |
Campus Climate SurveyThe University of Wisconsin-River Falls has more than 6,500 students and about 850 faculty and staff who work together under one Mission Statement: to help students learn so they are successful as productive, creative, ethical, engaged citizens and leaders with an informed global perspective. UWRF recognizes the value of inclusion and that educational excellence requires cultural competence - the ability to appreciate, understand and embrace our differences. Campus climate is defined as the “current attitudes, behaviors, and standards of employees and students concerning the access for, inclusion of, and level of respect for individual and group needs, abilities, and potential.” In conjunction with the University of Wisconsin System’s Diversity Climate Assessment Project, Susan Rankin, Ph.D., a nationally known expert in assessing and improving campus climate, visited campus last month to meet with staff, students and faculty to discuss participation in the UWRF’s Campus Climate Survey. Rankin has conducted similar assessments and initiatives with colleges and universities across the United States including St. Cloud State University, Carleton College and UW-La Crosse. The survey is voluntary and anonymous. Beginning Monday, Oct. 12, you can access the survey from any computer. It will take from 30-45 minutes to complete the survey. Please see the FAQs listed on the left for further information. Other survey-taking options will be available to accommodate individual needs. The survey results will be publicly presented by spring 2010. For more information, contact Craig Morris, UWRF chief diversity officer, at ext. 3833. The survey results will be publicly presented by spring 2010. |
