Soups featured by area restaurants at the Bowls for Hope event at UW-River Falls March 8, 2016. The event raised $6,000 for Assistance Resource Center, Inc. Since its inception in 2010, Bowls for Hope has raised more than $40,000 for local charitable organizations.
Each year the University of Wisconsin-River Falls works with the community to raise funds through the Bowls for Hope event in which proceeds raised help a worthy nonprofit organization make a difference in the St. Croix Valley. Applications are now open for the 2017 recipient of this charity event.
The 2017 Bowls for Hope event is Tuesday, March 7, from 5-7 p.m. at UW-River Falls.
To be considered for the 2017 Bowls for Hope proceeds to benefit your St. Croix Valley nonprofit organization, complete the Request for Funds form. Interested charitable organizations should submit their requests online by Monday, Nov. 21.
The 2016 Bowls for Hope event raised $6,000 for the Assistance and Resource Center, Inc. (ARC) of River Falls. Since 2010, Bowls for Hope has raised more than $40,000 for St. Croix Valley charitable organizations.
Bowls for Hope event
For an entrance fee of $25/adult and $5/children age 12 and under, participants may select and keep a bowl created in ceramic, pottery, fibers, wood and glass studio classes at UWRF, River Falls High School, Meyer Middle School, the Renaissance Academy, or by area artists. Attendees may also sample, at no extra charge, soups donated and served by area restaurants. Guests have the opportunity to vote for their favorite soup. This year, a "Chefs' Choice Award" will be awarded to the soup favored by the chefs participating in the event.
Tickets can be purchased at the River Falls Chamber of Commerce, 215 West Maple Street, or the UWRF Chancellor's Office in 116 North Hall starting in January 2017. For questions in regards to advanced ticket sales, call 715-425-3201. Tickets will also be available at the door. Purchasing tickets in advance will guarantee a bowl.

Belle Vinez, Bo's 'N Mine, Copper Kettle, Dish and the Spoon Café, Kilkarney Hills, Perkins Family Restaurant & Bakery, River Falls Hospital Sodexo Dining Services, Riverwalk Event Room & Kitchen, South Fork Café, UWRF Chartwells Dining Services, West Wind Supper Club, and Whole Earth Grocery.
