Initial Licensure: K-12 Art

For students with baccalaureate degrees seeking initial certification as school teachers in K-12 ART.

 

Requirements: Open to students with baccalaureate degrees who wish to become certified art teachers. To ensure that state art certification standards are met, students should consult early in their programs with the academic advisor for the College of Education and Professional Studies (Mr. Mike Martin) and the Graduate School, as well as their content area advisor (Dr. Lynn Jermal).

 

An overall GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale within the baccalaureate degree is required for all candidates. For licensure, candidates must complete the program with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students must have the equivalent of a major or strong minor in the content area before admission to the program.
