  •      Application to Teacher Education

  • You will need to apply and be accepted to be a candidate for teaching certification by completing the Application to Teacher Education process. Directions and requirements can be found on the link below. Take the required courses (receiving the grade needed) and complete the other required forms and Praxis I tests as soon as possible in your program, It is important that you start the process your Freshman year!

        Take the Praxis I exams as soon as possible, passing scores are required for admission.  The closer you are to high school when taking these proficiency tests, the better you will score. SO TAKE THEM NOW! Pick up an application form from the WEB Dean's Office or Hawthorne Counseling Center and register to take the test at a convenient site ASAP.

    Application to Student Teaching

  •  You need to apply for your Student Teaching semester a year in advance. For example if you plan to Student Teach in Fall 2006, you will need your application into the Student Teaching Office by November, 2005. The Student Teaching Packet packet will be posted soon on the COEG website. Attend an informational meeting, they are held every semester to prepare you. Watch the website for when and where.

    Art Education students will teach 9 weeks on one level and 9 weeks on another to complete their K-12 certification.
