University of Wisconsin River Falls Service Learning Awards of Excellence
Receiving Awards: Sarah Allen, Jodi Kruse, and Joseph Frost. Providing congratulations, Michael Padgett, Art Department Chair. These three Art Department majors were awarded the President's service Learning Award for their contribution for the community mural project "Finding Your Dreams" completed in July of 2001. Joseph Frost also received the UWRF Service Learning Student Award. Chancellor Lydecker made the presentations on May 13, 2002. The Mural Project Mission was to create a public artwork that characterizes contemporary life, and celebrates the cultural diversity of the St. Croix Valley region. at the turn of the Millennium. This project was sponsored by the Chalmer Davee Library, the Department of Art's Art Education Program and Teen University. The Project was endowed by a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council and the Otto Bremer Foundation, with matching in-kind contributions provided by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. |
