The hot glass studio is often the warmest place to hang out and blow glass, watch others blow glass, or make solid glass pieces. The glass furnace is usually about 2100 degrees F and the Glory Holes also add considerable heat to the room. Because glass is easier to work HOT it does tend to heat things up for both the blower and the piece.
The consolidation prize for dealing with the heat is obviously the prestige and coolness of being able to say,
"I made that-- I did it in GLASSBLOWING."
