In her own words

Initial Press Release

Provost Coombs Appointed Intermin Chancellor

"She believed in us and saw not only who we were, but who we could be. Simply knowing her made me want to be the best that I can be. She was an inspiration by example. Her energy, kindness, and visions will be greatly missed." - Emily Hedlund, Student

Ann was genuine, down to earth, fun, wise, thoughtful, warm, contagiously positive and more. In the short time since we've heard this painful news, people have said “She always remembered my name after hearing it only once”, “She knew more about me than I did about her,” “She would listen to issues large and small” and “She always hugged or put her arm around me”. This afternoon I noticed that someone had gently placed an elegant, beautiful vase of deep red roses in her North Hall parking spot. That small sampling of sentiments speaks volumes about the loss so many are feeling. - Sue Walton, Academic Staff Council Chair
