University Advancement Call Center Program

What is the Call Center Program?
The Call Center program, operating out of the UW-River Falls Foundation Call Center in the Regional Development Institute (RDI) is the telefund program of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Foundation. The program employs approximately 30-35 UW-River Falls full time students as Call Center Specialists. This is an aggressive telefund program in which the Call Center Specialists are trained to contact UWRF alumni and friends around the United States as well as parents of current students in order to seek and secure donations on behalf of UW-River Falls. It is expected of staff to not only meet fundraising goals, but to excel at being courteous representatives of the University while connecting with current and prospective donors. During the 2006-2007 academic year the Call Center staff raised a total of $325,000 in pledges and gifts for the benefit of UW-River Falls.

What is the Wage?
The starting salary of Call Center Specialists is $7.00/ hour. Salary increases are based on job performance. The Call Center Specialists position is a student assistance position and does not fulfill work/study hours.

What are the Work Hours?
The Foundation Call Center operates from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. Students work from mid-September through mid-December and from late January through early May. All employees are expected to work three evenings(9 hours) a week. Additionally this fall semester 2007, we will add 3 Sunday afternoon calling sessions (2:00-5:00 p.m.)and staff are expected to work one afternoon.

Who should Apply?
Interested full time students who will professionally represent the University, have a genuine interest in connecting with alumni and friends, and will not hesitate to ask for a gift to support UW-River Falls. Students who are able to manage and balance their work and academic schedule. An essential part of this position is being confident while communicating over the telephone. Previous work experience (not necessarily in fundraising) will be an asset. We seek students who are enthusiastic, responsible, team players. Students who succeed in this position receive letters of recommendation and fundraising outcomes to build portfolios.
