AGED 275 Reflective Paper

 

The reflective paper serves to summarize your thoughts on the experience of working in an agricultural education program and being an agricultural educator. Your paper should pull together the key ideas from your journal, apply the main points from our class discussions, and reveal your views on being an ag teacher.

 

Details:

 

¯                Key Questions: your paper needs to answer 3 key questions.

o       What did you learn from the time you spent working in an agricultural education program this semester?

o       How did what you observed match the discussions we had in class?

o       Why do you want to be an agricultural education teacher?

¯                Length: 2-3 pages

¯                Format: Flexible. You need to address the 3 key questions, but can choose the format that works best for you.

¯                Deadline: The paper must be completed AFTER you finish your 30 your field experience.

 

Evaluation:

Criteria for an A paper:

A      Addresses all 3 key questions in depth

A      Strong organization with specific, pertinent details

A      Well written with few spelling/typo problems

A      Written in the 1st person point of view (I observed…, I feel that…)

Criteria for a B paper:

B       Addresses all 3 key questions in depth

B       Good organization with minor lapses in specific, pertinent details

B       Solid writing with some punctuation, usage, or spelling errors

B       Written in the 1st person point of view (I observed…, I feel that…)

Criteria for a C paper:

C        Addresses all 3 key questions, but answers lack depth

C        Fair organization but insufficient supporting details

C        Inconsistent use of first person

C        Several punctuation, usage or spelling errors

Criteria for a D/F paper:

N       Fails to address all 3 key questions

N       Poor organization

N       Not written in first person

N       Many punctuation, usage or spelling errors
