General Information
Features
- Four days of riding, demonstrations and lectures for Western and English riders to help you become better horse owners and competitors.
- Open to youth 10-18 years of age
- All sessions to be taught by UW-RF instructors and faculty.
Requirements
- Each youth participant will bring their own horse and grain (hay and bedding provided). Care and upkeep of each horse will be the responsibility of respective participant.
- A limited number of UWRF horses will be available for non horse owners who have previous riding experience. Indicate on the registration form if you need a horse (no charge).
- Both English and Western tack is available for use by all participants at no additional charge.
- Each horse must have a valid (current year) negative coggins certificate and a recent health certificate. It is recommended that horses be vaccinated for strangles, influenza and rhinopneumonitis. Follow the recommendations of your veterinarian concerning the use of vaccines.
- A group leader (adult) must accompany participants for supervisory purposes. Groups may consist of any number of members from clubs and counties throughout the region. We recommend no more than 6 students per group leader. Group leaders will be able to attend all sessions by paying only a lodging and meal charge. Group leaders may volunteer to supervise additional students. (UWRF will not supply group leaders. It is the resposibility of parents or guardians.)

Housing and Meals
- Participants will be housed in campus residence halls and meals will be provided in the University Center. (1st meal Monday morning, Last meal Thursday evening)
Transportation
- Transportation between residence halls, meals at the University Center, and college barn must be provided by each adult group leader (4H Leader, parent, guardian). Individual participants must have transportation arranged.
