Why I decided to attend UW-River Falls : I decided to come to River Falls because of close proximity to the metropolitan area. Being close allows for excellent internship opportunities, shopping, and hanging out with friends at a sports game or dining facility. It was also close yet far enough away from my hometown.

Favorite food served on campus: My favorite foods on campus are the assortments of wraps and French fries at Riverside commons. I also enjoy the soft shelled tacos at Zona Mexicana.

Favorite feature of UW-River Falls : I have two favorite features, Frednet and textbook services. I love that if my computer isn’t cooperating with me I can call them and they’ll come to my room and fix it for FREE. Textbook services is also great because I don’t have to purchase books that I’ll never look at again, I can just rent them and use them for that semester.

Campus Involvement: I am involved in Residential Life, Desk Assistant, Tour guide, and the First Year Experience Office.

Favorite professor: Donald Petzold, a geography professor, because each day he informed the class about what the weather was doing. He also made class fun with his interesting stories of his research.

Favorite spot on campus: My favorite spot on campus is the Kinnickinnic “Kinni” River. It’s so peaceful and no matter what is going on it always seems to be quiet.

Favorite event on campus: Homecoming is a great event on campus because everyone comes together for a week of fun competition.

Best reason to live on campus: It is important to experience both living on and off campus. Living on campus is when one meets friends and becomes involved. Living off campus gives one the chance to improve their responsibility skills and understand how their parents felt.

Best thing about being a student at UW-River Falls: Classes are small enough that teachers remember you from the previous semester.

Advice to incoming students: Take classes that don’t deal with your major because then you have the chance to experience something that you normally may not have tried.
